Grace was the daughter of Punderson and Lucy (Carlin) Benninger and the wife of Floyd W. Hendershot. They had at least four children: Madelyn, Bernard, Jean and Berneda.

Grace was born in Auburn Township, Susquehanna County, PA and attended school in South Auburn. She married Floyd W. Hendershot who predeceased her in 1967. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Madelyn McDonald in 1983.

Grace was employed as a machine operator at the Blue Swan Mills for a number of years. She enjoyed bowling, gardening and crocheting. She is survived by a son and 2 daughters, 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and nieces.

Grace was a resident of the Sayre House when she passed away at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. She formerly lived at 137 Hoover Street, Sayre, Bradford County, PA.

The funeral and committal services were conducted by the Rev. Matthew Richardson, pastor of the Sayre Presbyterian Church. Friends called at the Lowery Funeral Home, 225 South Main Street, Athens.
