Laura "Sue" Delasbour-Hayes, one of 16 children, a homemaker, died of cancer on Thursday, July 28, 2005 at her home. She was 69 years old. Laura was the daughter of the late Eugene Delasbour, Sr. and Anna Johnson-Delasbour of Franklin, Louisiana.
Laura met and married her husband, Noel Hayes, who was a very caring and compassionate husband for 47 years. To this union was born one daughter, Angela Hayes. Since Angela was the only child, Laura devoted much of her time nurturing and providing her with an education.
Laura spent her life caring for her family. Cooking, gardening, and reading the bible verses were activities that filled her life. Her three grandchildren were the "apples" of her eyes. Jasmine and Devin called Laura "Grandma," but Miles, they youngest, will remember her as "Grammy" and "Old Lady." All three will cherish her love for them.
Her survivors include her husband, Noel Hayes; her daughter, Angela Hayes; three grandchildren; seven brothers, John Delasbour, Charles Delasbour, Neville Delasbour, Donald Delasbour, Luther Delasbour, David Delasbour, and Robert Delasbour; five sisters, Lucille Delasbour-Jones, Ida Delasbour-Sparrow, Anna Louise Delasbour-Dargins, Lydia Delasbour-Foulcard, and Mary Ann Delasbour-Boutte; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
