Services for Clyde Chapman, 84, of Lufkin, will be held in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Smith, Bishop Crockett and Bro. Dillard officating. Interment will follow in the Newman Cemetery.

Mr. Chapman was born March 25, 1930 in Wells, Texas, the son of the late Rivah (Grimes) and James Marshall Chapman. He passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014 in a local nursing facility.

Clyde served in the United States Army from 1947 to 1956. He spent his life as a seagoing Tugboat Captain, traveling to many places in the world. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey Chapman of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Carla and Bucky Hatfield, and Sheila Renee and Eddie Majefski; grandchildren, Waylon and Nell Majeski, Britney Majefski, Jason Aaron Sones, and Jessica and Travis Norris; great-grandchildren, Bryce Murphy Norris, Owen James Norris and Kade Lopez Majefski; sisters, Daisy Hensley and Annie Morris; brother, Tommy Chapman; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
