A 24-year-old man was free on $825,000 bond Saturday after being charged with the shooting death of a man during an argument over a minor traffic accident Friday. Miguel Serna, 332 Florida St., was charged with murder w i t h malice before Acting Magistrate Robert Lozano in connection with the death of Willie Chapman. . .. Chapman, 33 of 5630 Boatman Kd.. was shot to death Friday night while on a trip to the store to get supplies for a camping trip with neighborhood youths. Chapman was involved in a minor mishap with Serna's sister in the parking lot of (the (?) Shopping Center, 1735 S. W.W. While (?) Rd., (?) said. Patrolman R.E. Hedden reported he arrived at 7:53 p:m. to investigate the accident and estimated damage to both cars at $75. He then left the scene. After Hedden left, Serna and two companions arrived and argued with Chapman. Hedden was called back to investigate the shooting about an hour later. The youths with Chapman told police he had been shot at near point-blank range by the assailant who fled the scene. Chapman was dead on arrival at Green Hospital. Services for Chapman will be Monday at 4 p.m. in Alamo Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells. Survivors include five brothers and five sisters.
