Orville Howard, 80, entered his eternal, heavenly home on June 5, 2014, at 8:06 pm, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Orville was born February 24, 1934, in Putney, KY. He was the son of the late Oscar and Parley Taylor Howard.

On September 6, 1952, Orville was united in marriage to Jean Nolan, who survives.

Orville proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1956-1958. He attended school in Salem, IN. Orville retired from Cummins Engine Company after 27 years, where he was a department supervisor. After his retirement from Cummins, he was the supervisor for the City of Seymour Parks and Recreation Department. Orville was a 58 year member of First Baptist Church in Seymour. He was a Deacon serving numerous terms as the Chairman, the Sunday school superintendent, as well as other boards. Orville was an avid outdoorsman with a love for fishing and gardening. His most treasured moments were spending time with his beloved granddaughter, Livi Lou. Orville's contributions to both his family and church were many and he will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his wife, Jean; his daughter: Amanda (Jay) Gerth, grandchildren: Noah Alexander and Olivia Louise; Brother: Bill (Janet) Howard; sisters: Ruby (John) Inman, Frances Brasher, Bobby Hoyt, Debra Jean (Darrell) Holstine, Fern (John) Blanton, and sister-in-law: Nola Howard; many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother: Lorenzo (Jean), Glen, and Jackie Howard; sister: Ruth Howard.
