The Michigan Soldiers and Sailors Individual Records index published 1913 lists five men by the name of Charles Soule/s as follows.

Charles E Soule 10th MI Cav
Charles Soules C/3rd MI Inf
Charles Soules B/12th MI Inf
Charles Soules M/3rd MI Cav

Volume 33 containing the roster for the 3rd MI Cav, similarly lists only one entry for Charles Soules: Wayne County. Enlisted in company M, Third Cavalry, Sept. 18, 1861. Mustered Nov. 9, 1861. Died April 21, 1864. Buried in National Cemetery in Vicksburg, Miss. Grave No. 7429.

Unfortunately other sources list Charles Soule/s dying at various dates and places.

The U.S. Register of Deaths of Volunteers, 1861-1865 lists Cpl. Charles Soules of E/3rd MI Cav dying at McPherson G H (Hospital) in Vicksburg, Miss. on 20 Apr 1865.

The U.S. Burial Registers, Military Posts and National Cemeteries, 1862-1960 is similar to the above but with the rank of private and a date of 2 Apr 1865 and burial in I-319 in Vicksburg.

The U.S. National Cemetery Interment Control Forms have two entries. The first is similar to the Burial Registers, but a site of I-7429.

A second entry for both the Burial Registers and Interment Control Forms lists Pvt. Charles Soules of B/3rd MI Cav dying on 20 Aug 1865 and buried in San Antonio, TX. Findagrave memorial.
