Margret Louise Anderson born on October 23, 1933 in Lick Creek, WV to the late Carlos Washington Anderson and Georgia Pauline Williams Sherry.

She was the second of four daughters. Known as Margaret Anderson Butler passed away on June 5, 2014 at 8:08 AM following a long illness.

Preceding her in death are her parents; two sisters, Joy Mae Anderson McIntyre and Shirley Dean Anderson Strangis; one son, Edward Carl Fogarty and two husbands, Robert James Fogarty (married from 1957-1971), Lloyd George Butler (married from 1983-1997).

Margaret was active in the Methodist Church where she had been a church secretary and Sunday school teacher of the youth programs. She also helped run the children's choir.
As a member of the Clan Anderson Society she was very proud of her Scottish heritage and strived to pass down the historic lineage to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She had also been a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Daughters of the Confederacy. She was also a member of the Butler Cemetery Association and active in maintaining the heritage of descendants of Powell Butler.

Margaret was very active in her 70s and earned the President's Physical Fitness Patch along with Bronze, Silver and Gold medals in the President's Fitness Champions Program.
She loved sewing and quilting. Her talent was exceptional. Pipestem State Park Gift Center sold her designs and at one time made a whole window display of her crafts.
Deeply committed to researching the histories of the Anderson and Williams families and printed books of their genealogies. She also sponsored the Anderson Family Reunion at Pipestem State Park every year.

She is survived by her sister, Barbara Ann Anderson Brooks; brother, Donald Jan Sherry; three children, Melanie Dawne Fogarty Robertson, Robert James Fogarty II and Shawn Patrick Fogarty; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and close family friends such as Michael and Johnny Sue Philpot.

She passed on to her family knowledge and pride of her heritage, a love of nature and many wonderful stories. She had a warm smile and a very loving attitude. She touched the hearts of many and will not be forgotten.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. A private family burial will follow. Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 2:00 until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Butler Cemetery Association, 126 Magnolia Ave. , Princeton, WV 24740.
