Thomas Douglas "Buster" Allen, Sr. 90 of Smiths Grove died Monday, June 9,2 014 at the Medical Center. The Warren County native was a son of the late Frank Mitchell and Nella V Tucker Allen and husband of the late Helen Houchins Allen. He is preceded in death by a son, Larry Allen; two brothers, George Earl Allen and James Allen. Buster was a bus driver and factory worker and a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.

His survivors are his four daughters: Ruby Wood (Gene), Betty Britt (Bennie), Lenora Harriford (Terry), Emma Glover (Kenneth); two sons, Thomas D. Allen, Jr. and George Allen (Eleanor); a daughter-in-law, Sandra Allen; four sisters, Eugenia Hadley, Anna Bell Portener (Raymond), Mary Jo Johnson, Dorothy Foster and a brother, William Harrison "Billy" Allen (Dorothy); brother-in-law, Robert Houchins (Kathy), a sister-inlaw, Cindy Houchins; 11 Grandchildren; eight Great Grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 12 noon Friday, June 13, 2014 at Pleasant View Baptist Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery #2. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant View Baptist Church under the direction of Hardy & Son Funeral Homes.

Wife: Helen Allen, 77, of Smiths Grove died at 5:20 p.m. June 26, 2008, at her residence.

The Warren County native was a homemaker and a seamstress. She was a daughter of the late O.D. Houchins and Rosa Cooke Houchins. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Margery Patterson and Sue Carolyn Houchins; and two brothers, O.D. “Brother” Houchins Jr. and William “Tommy” Thomas Houchins.
