Johann and Anna were married in 1895, and they had six children. After coming to Canada they homesteaded in Alberta in 1905. Johann worked on many interesting endeavors over the years, some of which were: ocean sailor, cook on a Torpedo boat, veterinarian, used a horse and breaking plow on the first fireguards for the C.P.R. in the Coronation/Stettler area, steam engineer and farmer. Their children were:

- Emil, lived in Minneapolis, Minn.
