FULLERTON — Kenneth "Sandy" Davis, 85, of Fullerton died Monday, June 9, 2014, at his home with his loving wife of 63 years at his side.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Palmer Funeral Home. The Rev Vern Olson will officiate. Burial with military rites will be in the Fullerton Cemetery.

Mr. Davis was born Aug. 8, 1928, at Shelby to Austin and Susan Belle (McMillian) Davis.

Survivors include his wife, Colleen; four daughters and sons-in-law, Marcy and Doug Dudek of Ansley, Janeene and Randy Fitzgerald of Austin, Texas, Laurie and John Slater Bushnell, Ill., and Linda and Robert Brandon of Bakersfield, Calif.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Sandy of Grand Island and James and Peg of Aiken, S.C.; 12 grandchildren and17 great-grandchildren with another one due in July; a brother and sister-in-law, George and Sandra Davis of Neleigh; and two sisters, Winnie Rolf and Kathleen Teser, both of Bellevue.

At an early age he moved to Spalding, St. Edward, Belgrade and Palmer. He attended country school in Belgrade. At the age of 16, he got his pilots license and enjoyed many hours of flying. He served in the United States Marines in 1946 and 1947.

On July 19, 1950, he married Colleen June Kenney at Cedar Rapids. The union was blessed with five children. Sandy and Colleen lived in the Fullerton area all their married lives.

Sandy worked with Davis Brothers construction until 1968, when he started his own heavy equipment business that he operated until 1988. He farmed all his life and enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was a member of United Methodist Church, and one of the founders of the Sportsmen Club. He was a past member of the American Legion, Eagles, Fullerton Fire Department and Junior Chamber of Commerce.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Austin "Duke," Wallace "Brownie," Eugene "Chick,"and Arthur "Ducky"; two sisters, Lola Belle Rieken and Deva Van DeWalle; and three grandchildren, Tara Jo and Anthony Davis and Kenneth Davis.
