Obituary: DEATH OF MRS. C. WALLACE
CARSONVILLE, JAN 5 - Mrs. Charles Wallace, highly esteemed resident of Bridgehampton Township, passed away Sunday morning, January 2, at the age of 61 years, 5 months and 16 days.
Rebecca Mitchell was born in Nova Scotia, Canada, July 17, 1870. At the age of 2 years, her parents moved to London, Ontario. Later she lived in Watford, Canada, coming to Deckerville, Sanilac County, in 1889. September 24, 1890, she was united in marriage to Charles F. Wallace, of Carsonville, and had resided here since that time.
She is survived by her husband, three sons: Frank of Bridgehampton, Guy of Royal Oak, and Clifford, at home; four daughters, Miss Edna Wallace, school teacher in Sanilac County and county school examiner, Mrs. George Walker, Bridgehampton, Mrs. Vernon Trigger, Springfield, Massachusetts, and Miss Iva Wallace, at home; one brother, William Mitchell; and one sister, Mrs. Margaret MacIvar, both of Detroit; also four grandchildren. Two children preceded her in death.
Mrs. Wallace was a kind, devoted wife and mother, and an ideal homemaker. She was very active in church work and community affairs, being a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, Foreign Missionary Society, Ladies' Aid Society, and Bridgehampton Nutrition Club.
