Daughter of David Calhoon and Olive (Ollie) Dewitt Calhoon. Ida was the 3rd of 4 daughters. She married Harold Calhoun, and they had 2 children, David and Barbara. Ida and Harold also raised Ida's niece, Beverly. She was instrumental in organizing the Parent-Teacher Association in the Deerfield School System. She organized and led the old Deerfield 4-H Club. Ida was a member of the Deerfield Lutheran Church and its Mary Circle. Ida and Harold helped their daughter to raise one of their grandchildren, my father. My dad remembers his grandma as "the best grandma in the world."
