Lawrence Allen was born to Ed Allen and Mary Lee Murray in Dalton, Arkansas. Lawrence was born in the middle of 9 siblings and lived during the great depression. He graduated from Doniphan H.S. Lawrence enlisted in the US Army Air Corp in 1942 and served honorably as a corporal as an aircraft mechanic. He served much of WWII at the Ardmore Oklahoma airbase which today is a regional airport. After the war Lawrence married Ripley County resident Betty J Boyles, and they moved to St. Louis, Missouri where two Boys were born, Claude and Richard. Lawrence was employed at the Union Electric, Venice power plant for almost 20 years where he died of a heart attack in 1968. Lawrence was a faithful Christian and exemplary human being, respected and beloved by his family. Rest in peace!
