Former Resident of Benton Harbor Dies

Dave Cowgill, until less than a year ago a resident of Benton Harbor, passed away Wednesday evening at 9 o'clock at his home in Coloma township, where he had been ill with scarlet fever for the past 12 days.

The deceased, who leaves his widow, Mary, and five children, Marie, Frances, Lucile, Robert, and Duane, all at home, was employed when he resided here, by the Standard Oil company.

Mr. Cowgill was born December 26, 37 years ago. Besides his immediate family, he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B.F. Cowgill, of this city; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Bender, also of this city, and Mrs. Charlotte Tio(?), of Wajamego, Mich., four brothers, Frank Cowgill, of Michigan City, Ind., Thomas Cowgill, of Coloma, Leroy Cowgill, of Royalton, and Cyrus Cowgill, of Detroit, and a number of nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock in the yard of the Cowgill home in Coloma township. Rev. A.C. Diefenbach, pastor of the First Community church in this city, will officiate. Burial is to be in the Crystal
Springs cemetery.
