Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock for O. A. Anderson at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Ann Township with the Rev. Stan Eyberg in charge of the services. The Old Westbrook Male quartette sang. The pallbearers were: Kenneth Knudson, Roy Iverson, Winfred Norsiden, Joseph Nelson, Floyd Norsiden and Russell Satter. Interment was in the St. Olaf Church cemetery.

Mr. Anderson passed away of a heart attack at about 1:30 Saturday afternoon, December 28, 1957. His health had been failing him the past two years. At the time of his death he had reached the age of 80 years, four months and 22 days.

Oscar Arnold Anderson was born August 6, 1877, in Ann Township, Cottonwood County, the only child of Gunhild and Andrew Anderson, early pioneers. As an infant he was baptized into the Lutheran faith and on October 25, 1891 he was confirmed by the late Rev. Askevold at the St. Olaf Church. On September 12, 1912 he was united in marriage to Ida Fingarson at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church by the late Rev. Hans Magelssen. They established their home on a farm in Ann Township where they lived until three and a half years ago when they moved to a home in Walnut Grove. There they lived until last spring when because of the illness of Mrs. Anderson they had to leave it and live with their children. For the past five months, since the death of his wife, Mr. Anderson made his home with his son, Earl, and family on his home farm.

He was preceded in death by a son, Glenn, in 1929, and by his wife on July 24, 1957. He leaves to mourn his passing a daughter, Mrs. Alton Nelson, (Lyla) of rural Walnut Grove, two sons, Earl and Arvid, of the Revere vicinity and eight grandchildren. The grandchildren are Lenis, David, Janice and Bonnie Nelson of Walnut Grove; Arlie, Bruce and Todd Anderson and Karen Anderson of Revere. He is also survived by Mrs. Hattie Pittsley of Faribault and Arthur Swanson of Lamberton, two cousins who made their home for a number of years during their childhood and youth with his parents, and also by other cousins and more distant relatives. Mr. Anderson was born on the farm where he passed away and lived there all his life except for the three and a half years spent in Walnut Grove.

Among those from away who attended the funeral were Mrs. Hattie Pittsley and Mrs. P. J. Schafflhuber of Faribault, Mr. and Mrs. Emery Nomeland of West Virginia, Mrs. George Schultz of Springfield and Herbert and John Bedwell of Minneapolis.
