Fred Mires Dies At Home Here; 72 Years Old
Fred Mires, 72, died Saturday midnight at his home, 431 N. 12th St. Mr. Mires was a member of the First Nazarene Church. He came to New Castle in 1909 and for 20 years was employed at the Chrysler plant, later being employed as custodian at the Kresge store and later at the courthouse.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Mary E. Mires; a son, Raymond Mires of New Castle; and a brother, Mark Mires of Westport.
The body was taken from the Stanley Mortuary to the home where friends may call. Services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the First Nazarene Church, 18th and Grand Ave., with Rev. C. R. Thrasher, of Richmond, officiating assisted by Rev. O. W. Sciscoe. Burial will be in the South Mound Cemetery.
