Peggy Alexander, 82, died at Legend Senior Living Residence in Tulsa, Thursday, June 19, 2014. Peggy was born Tuesday, November 10, 1931, in Milfay, the daughter of Forrest Whitmore Sr. and Margaret Gertrude Fisher Whitmore.

Peggy was a 1949 graduate of Milfay High School. She attended Central State College in Edmond.

She married Carl L. Alexander on February 19, 1950, in Milfay. Peggy was primarily a homemaker, but she did some work at Will Rogers Fabric Shop and Carl’s State Farm Office.

She and her husband Carl were season ticket holders at Oklahoma State University basketball games for a number of years. Peggy loved attending basketball and football games with Carl and her family. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and making those around her happy.

She is survived by two daughters, a son, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two brothers, a sister-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Tim Alexander, and her sisters, Evelyn Spears, Edith Hopper and Foustine Jackson.

Graveside services were held at Stroud Cemetery Friday, June 27, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. Memorial Services were held the following day, Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow.
