Hazel Cook Brown, 85, died May 31, 2007 at the Letcher Manor Nursing Home. The daughter of the late Louis Cook, Jr. and Susan Cook, she was the widow of William H. Brown. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Premium Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Linda L. Combs, of Ice, KY and Yvonne Sutphin, of Goode, Va.; three sons, William Ronald Brown, of Cowan, KY, Richard Brown, of Ice, KY, and Mitchell R. Brown, of Surfside Beach, S.C.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Riley Cook, of Whitesburg, KY; two half brothers, Wendell Cook of Somerset, KY and Wilmer Cook of Danville, KY; and a sister, Thelma Bays of Andrews, N.C. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer Cook and Edgar Cook; two sisters, Mabel Cook and Esta Day Smith; and two infant brothers, Paul Cook and Aster Cook.
