Ann Lipe Yancey passed away peacefully at her home in Industry, Texas on October 7, 2011. Born in Seminole, Oklahoma on November 17, 1931 to DeWitt and Kathryn Simons Lipe, Ann was predeceased by her parents, her brother "Busty" and her husband Earl Chapman Yancey.
Ann is survived by her son Mike and wife Susan of Houston, son Pete and wife Penny of Angleton and daughter Kay of The Woodlands. She also leaves to mourn six grandchildren: Laurie McClain, Marcus, Leah, Claire, Taylor and Will Yancey and four great-grandchildren: Gillian, Lauren, Roy and Westin.

Ann raised her family in Brazoria County where she was active in the Cub Scouts and First Methodist Church of Lake Jackson. She retired from Dow Chemical in Freeport after twenty plus years of service and moved with Earl to Industry, Texas to enjoy retirement at their newly acquired Yancey Ranch. After Earl's death in 1999, Ann found joy in singing with the Industry United Methodist Church Choir, dancing at the many private dance club gatherings with special friend Ernest Menn, and hugging the necks of her two spoiled dogs Molly and Lola. Her big heart and ever present smile will be greatly missed.

Visitation is Monday, October 10, 2011 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and the funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Industry United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Methodist Cemetery in Industry.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Industry United Methodist Church 1914 Main Street.
