Mrs. Vernelee Rester Cuevas, 59, Rt. 1, Box 555, Standard Community, Pass Christian, died Monday shortly after arrival at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport.
The wife of Dorty Cuevas, she was a lifelong resident of Hancock County. She was a member of Wolf Creek Baptist Church.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Burdic and Emma Line Perkins Rester, and a daughter, Karen Faye Cuevas.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Daniel C. Cuevas, Jackie W. Cuevas, and Dennis Dan Cuevas Jr.; two daughters, Mrs. Susan Necasie and Mrs. Vernell Hoda, all of Standard Community; two brothers, Burdick Joseph Rester Jr., Leetown, and Carl Richard Rester, Standard Community; five sisters, Mrs. Vercie Mae Cuevas, Mrs. Lunnie Mae Cuevas, Mrs. Jannie Powe, all of Standard, Mrs. Carolyn Castilow and Mrs. Lola Melton, both of Saucier; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call today after 4 pm at the family residence. The funeral will be held at 2 pm Wednesday at the residence, follwed by burial at Wolf Creek Cemetery.
Lang Funeral Home, Gulfport, is in charge of arrangements.
