James Leroy Smith, 73, of Hayward, Wisconsin, formerly of Sharon, died Wednesday July 10, 2002, at Hayward Area Medical Center.

He was born August 12, 1928, in Lons, the son of Herman and Hazel Styvesant Smith.
He married Joy Meithke, February 5, 1949, in Sharon.

He worked as branch manager for Omar Bakery for many years and worked the last 18 years of his career for Chambers and Owens, Janesville.

He is survived by his wife, one son and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held, Monday July 15, 2002, at Christ Lutheran Church, Sharon. The Rev. Mark Dressel officiated. Interment was at North Sharon Cemetery.
