She was born October 20, 1922 in Sweden Valley, PA, the daughter of Clifton B. and Eva Ida (Ackley) Young.
Katherine married Martin J. Funk Sr. and in 1967 she married Alfred E. Peckham who predeceased her in 1992.
She was a Wellsville High School graduate, and was employed as a secretary for the Allegany County Cooperative Extension in Belmont for many years. She was a member of Professional Secretaries International and AARP.
She is survived by 2 sons: Martin J. (Alice) Funk Jr. of Polacca, AZ; Victor L. (Gail) Funk of Belmont; 2 daughters: Sandra K. (Richard) Ayers of Victor, NY; Wanda R. (Ken) Hollamby of Olean; 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Gladys Saunders of Olean; Ruth Saunders of Friendship; and several nieces and nephews.
Katherine was predeceased by 1 brother: Carlos Perry, and 2 sisters: Frances Western and Pearl Perry.
Friends are invited to call from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Friday, June 4, 2004 at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home, Inc. in Belmont.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am following visitation in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellsville.
