Mrs. Alice Gregg, wife of James Gregg, died at her home in Cumberland Township, one mile from Carmichaels, Monday, April 27, 1885. Deceased was a true christian, a noble wife, and an affectionate mother. She made a profession of religion in early life and joined the C.P. Church at Carmichaels, of which she remained a consistent member until her death. Her demise was sudden, she having been in her usual health until a few hours before death; which proved a great shock to the whole community. She leaves a husband, five children and a host of friends to mourn her loss for 'to know her was but to love her'. The interment took place in Laurel Point Cemetery.
