Died, at her home in Carmichaels, Pa., October 20, 1894, Mrs. Mary Armstrong, in the 87th year of her age. Of the two sons and eight daughters who once gathered around the fireside which was always made bright and cheerful by her presence, only three remain; Mrs. Margaret Grooms of Carmichaels, Mrs. Emma Murdock of Charleroi, and George, who with the devotion of a faithful and affectionate son, assisted in caring for her through all the years of her weakness and infirmity.

More than forty years of her life was passed in widowhood, some of her children never having known what it was to share in the warm caress of a father's love, but they were blessed with a Christian mother, who was ever self-sacrificing, kind and indulgent.

More than fifty years ago she united with the C.P. Church of Carmichaels, of which she remained a faithful and consistent member until called home. One by one the fathers and mothers who once labored in that congregation are passing away. Their travel stained garments are all laid down. They rest from their labors but their works are not forgotten. May we who are younger follow them as they followed Christ.
