James Matthews Adams, age 96, died June 22, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Woodard Adams and sister, Mozelle Adams Core.
He is survived by his daughter, Marion Adams Greenlee (David), granddaughter, Ann Walker Greenlee; also brothers William Coefield Adams, Don Carthal Adams and sister, Elizabeth Adams Ferguson.
Mr. Adams grew up in Cedar Hill, TN, attended The University of the South, and served honorably in the Army Air Corps where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a faithful member of City Road Chapel UMC, a 33rd Degree Mason, and a member of the Scottish Rite and Phoenix Lodge 131. Mr. Adams was known as an American patriot, family man, craftsman, story teller, and an unforgettable character.
Service: Thursday, June 26 at 11:00 am, City Road Chapel, 701 Gallatin Rd. S., Madison, TN.
