Marije 'Mary' Mudrova was born in Syra, Bohemia and married Frantisek Cerny in Medovy Ujezd, Bohemia. She was the daughter of Frank Mudra and Ewa 'Eva' Zajicek and the mother of 14, 9 of whom survived to immigrate to St. Ansgar, IA. Her descendants live all over the U.S. and Canada.

OBITUARY-Mrs. Mary Cerny, aged 78 years, died Sunday evening, Feb. 25, 1911 of old age at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Antone Dvorak in Cedar City. Funeral at the house at 11 o'clock this morning,, Rev. C.D. Belden officiating. Mary Mudra was born in Bohemia, Sept. 13, 1832 and was married there to Frank Cerney. They came to America in May, 1881, settling in St. Ansgar, Iowa, where their son John was. In 1891 they bought the old John Robertson farm in London township. Mr. Cerny died there March 14, 1897. Mrs. Cerny continued to live there until last Christmas when on account of poor health she went to live with her daughter in Cedar City. Eight children survive: John of Lansing; Joseph of Belle Plain, Ia.; Lewis of Thief River Falls; Charles of Canby; Mrs. Antone Dvorak of Cedar City; Mrs. Celia Wheeler of Estaban (sic), Canada; Mrs. Anna Svejkovsky of London. Deceased was a woman highly regarded by those who knew her.
