Maryjean "Louise" Cagley, 72, of Charles City, died Sunday, February 10, 2008, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Maryjean Louise Ward Cagley was born March 8, 1935, at Charles City, the daughter of Delbert and Delia "Mildred" (Parker) Ward. She graduated from Charles City High School. On July 11, 1954, she was united in marriage to Hugh Cagley, Jr. at Deerfield. They lived and raised their family in Charles City. Hugh died on May 18, 2002.

Louise worked for many years in the Food Service Department of the Charles City schools, retiring in 1998. She enjoyed playing cards with her sister, playing Yahtzee with family and friends of all ages, cooking, baking, and working on crafts. Louise had a passion for singing, music, fishing and collecting snowmen. Family was most important to Louise and she looked forward to their daily visits.

Living family members include four children, Nick (Cheryl) Cagley of Floyd, Jeffrey Cagley of Marina Del Rey, Calif., Kelley (Brent) Waid of Charles City, and Sherri (Verl) Martin of Charles City; 18 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; a brother, Delbert "Skip" (Myrna) Ward of Charles City; two sisters, Gertrude "Tootie" (Clarence) Holt of Charles City, and Barbara Lensing and special friend Merlin Holtz of Floyd; and a daughter-in-law, Karla Cagley of Charles City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Julie Berding; a son, Wesley Cagley; three brothers, Jack and Arnold Rolph, and Vilas "Stub" Ward.
