Walker -- Gerard Hammerschmidt, 76, Walker, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1993, at the Good Samaritan Center, Ellis. Mr. Hammerschmidt was born Aug. 11, 1917, at Victoria and was a lifetime area resident.

He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Walker, and the Victoria Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie, in 1963.

Survivors include his wife, Mary of the home; three sons, Leon and Lloyd, both of Lawrence, and Allen of Walker; two daughters, Dianna Neville of Englewood, Colo., and Geri Click of Aurora, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Walker, the Rev. Frank Grinko officiating. Burial will be in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria. A vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Cline's Mortuary, Victoria, the Rev. Frank Grinko officiating.

Memorials may be made to the church. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today, 1 to 9 p.m. Monday, and after 8 a.m. Tuesday at Cline's Mortuary, 412 Main St., Victoria.
