WILLIE DODSON'S DEATH -- An Argentine Lad Instantly Killed Last Night by a Santa Fe Train. [From Friday's Daily.]

Willie Dodson, the 12-year-old son of James Dodson [sic], of Argentine, met a horrible death on the Santa Fe tracks last evening. The accident occurred a short distance west of the Twenty-fourth street bridge. The boy was walking on the track and, looking backward, saw a passenger train approaching from the west. In stepping from the track to avoid one train he was struck by another. He was thrown a distance of thirty feet and when the train was stopped and the trainmen reached him he was dead. The body was removed to Simmons' undertaking rooms on Silver avenue, where they were viewed by the coroner. An inquest was held this morning at 10 o'clock.

The boy's parents were moving from Argentine to Kansas City, Kansas, at the time of the accident, and he had gone down to river bank to gather up some fishing tackle that he had left there. He was returning across the tracks when death overtook him.
