Died, at Maple Creek on Monday of this week, Mrs Esther Wakeling, age 87 years. The deceased was born in London, England. She is survived by three daughters and one son.
Funeral services were held in the United Church on Wednesday afternoon and burial was made in the Maple Creek cemetery.

Mrs Esther Wakeling passed away in her sleep on Monday evening, February 19th after a short illness, at the age of 87 years. Lest to mourn her are one son, four daughters and four grandchildren. The son, Dick Wakeling of Brooks, Alberta; Miss Esther Wakeling, Brooks, Alberta; Mrs Caroline Austin and Mrs J H Scott of Maple Creek; and Mrs Archie Edmiston of Naicam, Saskatchewan.
Mrs Wakeling came to Canada in the spring of 1911 and settled in Winnipeg with her family for a few years, coming to live with her son, Jack, at Fox Valley on the death of her husband. When her son, Jack, was killed in action in 1918, she came to town and has resided in Maple Creek ever since.
The funeral service was held in the United Church on Wednesday afternoon, Rev E P Ewing officiating. The IOOF took care of arrangements; pall bearers being – W McFarlane, H Gilchrist, A Waller, A Williams, L Brinkhurst, A Myers. There were many floral tributes.
