A. Ross Hengst, 80, of Mulberry died early Tuesday morning in the Lafayette Home hospital from a heart ailment. He was taken to the hospital Monday.

A native of Tippecanoe county, Mr. Hengst was born July 6, 1882, the son of John L. and Nancy Jane (Curts) Hengst. In 1931, he married the former Minnie Stinespring, who survives.

Also surviving are a step-son, Floyd L. Hess, and a brother, John L. Hengst Sr. of near Mattix Corner.

Mr. Hengst was a member of the Holy Trinity English Lutheran church in Lafayette.

Last rites were held at the Johnson Funeral Home Thursday afternoon. The Rev. H. C. Stolldorf officiated. Burial was in the Fair Haven cemetery.
