Abraham Owens died on October 3 in his home in the Russ neighborhood, at the age of 57 years. Funeral services were held on last Friday afternoon in White Oak Pond Church, Rev. J. A. Russell officiating. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery.
Abraham Owens was born in Cook County, Tennessee on Februarys, 1871. He was married to Miss Mora Renner on March 1, 1908, and to this union was bom one child, Leonard Owens, now 19 years old.
Mr. Owens was converted at an early age and joined the Freewill Baptist Church. After his marriage, he and his wife united with White Oak Pond Church and he lived a true Christian life until his death.
His wife and one son are left to mourn his passing. The son is in Canada and was unable to come home at the time of his father's death. His brother, John Owens of Rader, was at his bedside when death came, but his two sisters, Mrs. Julia Heath of Idaho, and Mrs. Aggie James of Fredericktown, Missouri, were unable to come. In addition to his family, many friends mourn his death.
