The Cumberland News, Cumberland, Maryland, Monday, March 15, 1965: "Bernard Truman Brown, 79, of Philipsburg, Pa., died Friday night in the Philipsburg Hospital, where he had been a patient three weeks. A son of the late Patrick H. and Bridget (Burke) Brown, of Frostburg, he was born in Elk Garden, W. Va. A graduate of Penn State College, he was a mining engineer and at one time was employed by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Mines. Mr. Brown was a veteran of World War I and was wounded in action while serving in France. His only immediate survivor is a sister, Mrs. Aubrey (Urusula) Davis, of Frederick, Md. His wife, the former Ida Stonebreaker, died several years ago. A requiem mass will be celebrated Wednesday morning in St. Paul's Catholic Church, Philipsburg, with interment in the church cemetery."
