Helen Irene (Rose) Kelp, 94, of Nashville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014, in Nashville.

She was born in Brown County Aug. 23, 1920, daughter of James Theodore and Ollie (Day) Rose. They preceded her in death.

Helen was a homemaker who loved and enjoyed her family and friends. She was an excellent cook and was well known for her great pies. She enjoyed and took great pride in her flower garden. She was a member of Nashville Christian Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis (Don) Hammond; and her son, Leon (Janis) Kelp, both of Nashville; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lester Kelp in 2002; and her siblings, Muriel, Lillian, Faye, May, Lloyd, Ralph, Earl and Dale.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home with Tim Bond officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec 3, at the funeral home.
