Violet Lynn Lee Herrington was the eighth child of John Edward Lee and Nancy Jane Hollis. She was born May 26, 1948 in Trinity County, Texas. After 17 years of marriage she was widowed with the death of Norman Herrington. She was the loving and devoted mother of three daughters: Lora Lynn, Tamera Ann and Shurma Gail and the grandmother of four granddaughters and three grandsons. Violet was a fun loving person who enjoyed dancing, laughing and conversation. She would always lend a helping hand and sacrificed a lot to care for her husband Norman and daughter Tammy during their long illnesses. She lost her own year long battle with lung cancer on July 10, 2014.

According to her wishes, Violet was cremated and her ashes were placed at the family plot beside her mother.
