Anna Hoover Bingham was born May 1, 1811 in Tennessee and was the daughter of Jacob and Jemima Broyles Hoover. She married Samuel Bingham in about 1827 in Tennessee. Around 1840-42, they moved to Boynton, Sullivan County, MO. Samuel and Anna had nine children: Jane (Hawkins P.) Harrelson; Jacob; Jemima (? Harrelson); Elizabeth Melvina (Alexander) Dunlap; Mary Ann (Joseph) Hamilton; William Calvin; John Amderson; Simeon Christopher; and James Knox Polk. Anna died October 13, 1846. She is buried in the Bingham Cemetery, Sullivan Co. Mo. beside Samuel.
