Rebecca's maiden name is unknown.

She migrated with her husband, Edward Bugbee, and daughter Sarah, who was born about 1630 and would later become the wife of Richard Chamberlain. The family sailed from Ipswich, England in the ship "Francis" and arrived in Boston about the last week of April 1634.

The couple settled in Roxbury (Suffolk Co., Massachusetts) where Edward's brother Richard had been living for four years.

Richard and his wife Judith are widely understood to have been childless; however, they had a young man, John Bugbee, living with them in 1634. Researchers have speculated that John was a son of Edward and Rebecca's who had migrated with his uncle Richard and rejoined his parents when they arrived.

Edward and Rebecca had two other children: Joseph in 1640 and another son who died in 1642, aged 1 month.Edward Bugby married by 1630, Rebecca ____. She apparently died before the writing of her husband's will. (An Edward Bugby married at Sandon, Essex, 29 Oct 1620, Rebecca Jacob, baptized at Sandon, 28 Jun 1601, daughter of John Jacob, & this may be the immigrant couple.)
They had 3 children: Sarah (Bugby) Chamberlain, Joseph, & an unnamed infant.
