She was born March 28, 1913 in Delaware, AR to the late Norman Wood and Dora Farnam Wood Winner Jay.
She was a retired line worker for Val Mac Industries and a homemaker.
She was baptized at an early age and attended the First Baptist Church in Delaware until her health began to fail.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Vassaur; three sisters, Ocie Clark, Ruth Bata and Bonnie Wood and two stepbrothers, Bobby and Kenneth Jay.
Survivors include three brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Arminta Winner of Delaware, Milbern and Cindy Jay of Redding, CA, Rev. David and Cilestine Jay of Dardanelle, AR, Nancy Jay of Delaware, AR and Jeanetta Jay of Dardanelle, AR; several nephews and nieces and a host of great-nephews and nieces.
Service will be Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at 2:00 p. m. at Faith Church in Dardanelle with Rev. David Jay and Rev. Wiley Jones officiating.
Interment will be in Graves Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home of Dardanelle, AR. Pallbearers will be Bill Altemus, Jon Lewis, Ron Bata, James Bata, Gregg Marcusfen, Pat Schmitz and Joe Showden.
