Jerry Blaine Linaweaver Sr., 71, of Leavenworth, died, Monday, July 14, 2014, at Olathe Medical Center. He was born on July 17, 1942, the son of Glenn L. and Dorothy M. (Tuttle) Linaweaver Sr.

On Sept. 16, 1960, Jerry married Betty Jean Hill in Leavenworth. She survives at the home. He is also survived by three sons, Jerry Linaweaver Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz., Mark Allen (Lisa) Linaweaver of Lansing, Kan. And Blaine Allen (Michelle) Linaweaver of Irvine, Calif.; a brother, Glenn Leo Linaweaver Jr.; a sister, Karen Sue Rush; eight grandchildren, Kyle, Kaitlin, Clay, Kory, Marcus, Ashley, Haley and Aiden; and a great-grandson, Rhett.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In 1970 he started Jerry Linaweaver Construction that is still in operation today as Linaweaver Construction Inc. Jerry was a long-time member of the National Cutting Horse Association.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
