Betty Jean Linaweaver, 74, of Leavenworth, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017, at Providence Medical Center. She was born April 4, 1943, in St. Joseph, Mo., the daughter of Charles and Elsie Frances (Huntsmen) Hill.
On Sept. 16, 1960, she married Jerry Blaine Linaweaver in Leavenworth. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2014. She was also preceded in death by eight siblings.
She is survived by three sons, Jerry Linaweaver Jr. of Leavenworth, Kan, Mark Allen (Lisa) Linaweaver of Leavenworth, Kan. and Blaine Allen (Michele) Linaweaver of Irvine, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Kyle, Kaitlin, Clay, Kory, Marcus, Ashley, Haley and Aiden; and two great-grandsons, Rhett and Lawson.
In 1970 she and Jerry started Linaweaver Construction. The company incorporated in 1985, as Linaweaver Construction Inc. Betty served as President until her death.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
