Joseph M. Hill, 75 of Leavenworth, Kansas passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, MO surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Leavenworth, Kansas on June 7, 1940, to Charles T. and Elsie Frances (Huntsman) Hill.

Joe married Donna K. Murawski on October 18, 1959. He is survived by his wife Donna of 56 years, a son Randy (Mary), a daughter Carla (Hill) Crawford (Marlin) 4 grandchildren, Austin, Tyler, Elena Hill, and Shelby Crawford. His nephew Mike Williams and children Michael, Taylor and Tanner. His sisters-in law, Linda Williams Louise (James H.), Alice (Charles R.), Jackie (Alva F.) and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Joe’s greatest love was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing, playing Bridge, trips to Branson with his wife, and driving around in his prized possession- his Blue Truck AKA “II Blue”
Joe was a cabinet maker for most of his life; and partnered with his brother Jim of Hill Brother’s Custom Cabinets until Jim’s passing. Joe coached American Legion baseball for 17 years, was a Cub Scout Master for the local troop and was a Kansas City Chiefs and KU Jayhawk fan.

Besides his wife and children, Joe is survived by his sister Betty Jean Linaweaver, Leavenworth and Cora Lee Bergman, St. Joseph Mo.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Charles T. and Elsie Frances Hill Vestal, sisters Rosa Lee Simonis, Ruth Marie O’Rourke, and his brothers Gerald Ray Hill, Charles R. Hill, James H. Hill, Earl Jack Hill and Alva F. Hill as well as many nieces and nephews.
Joe was a true gentleman, a generous and kind man who loved and cared for his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Leavenworth Animal Welfare Society.
Visitation will be 6 - 8 PM, Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Davis Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be 9:30 AM Friday, March 18, 2016 at Davis Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in the Leavenworth National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Davis Funeral Chapel.
