Charles Hill Sr.
Charles R. Hill Sr., a retired cabinetmaker, died Sunday, June 2, 1991, at his home in Leavenworth. He was 67.
Mr. Hill was born Dec. 28, 1923, in Smithville, Mo., the son of Chrles T. and Elsie Francis Huntsman Hill.
He worked for many years at Kaaz Woodworking, and also at the Great Western Manufacturing co.
He married Alice M. Berry on Aug. 15, 1941, in Platte City, Mo. She survives at the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Barbara Zink and Kay Michaud, both of Leavenworth: three sons, Ray Hill Sr., Tom Hill Sr., and Charles Hill Jr., all of Leavenworth: his mother, Elsie Vestal, Lansing; four brothers, Alva Hill, New York, James Hill, Earl Hill, and Joe Hill, all of Leavenworth; three sisters, Ruth O'Rourke, Ferrelview, Mo., Cora Lea Bergman, St. Joseph, Mo., and Betty Linaweaver, Leavenworth; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, Gerald Ray Hill, and a sister, Rosa Simonis.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, and also from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Davis Funeral Chapel.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Burial will be in the Mount Muncie Cemetery. The Rev. Russell Patton and the Rev. Gerald E. Todd will officiate.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
