Alice May Hill, 92, Leavenworth, passed away December 1, 2016, at her home, surrounded by her family. Alice was born December 16, 1923, in Miami, Missouri, the fourth of five children, of Arthur and Lilly Berry. She married the love of her life, Charles (Raybern) Hill, on August 16, 1941, and lived in Dearborn, Missouri, for a short while before moving to Leavenworth in 1946. In 1971, Alice and Raybern were able to realize their dream of moving to the Lake of the Ozarks, where they built a home at Sunrise Beach, and lived until 1986, where they provided many good times and precious memories for all of their children and grandchildren, and countless friends. There was always room for more at Alice's home, and she will always be remembered by many for her limitless hospitality, which included frying up huge amounts of crappie to feed them all. They returned to Leavenworth in 1986, where she remained for the rest of her life. They were blessed with 5 children, Barbara Zink (Kenny), Charlie Hill (Karen), Ray Hill (Debbie), Kay Michaud (Roger), and Tom Hill (Lena), all of Leavenworth. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raybern, in 1991, by her daughter, Kay, in 2014, and her son-in-law, Roger Michaud, on November 1st of this year. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Kenny Zink, grandsons Keith Zink and Mike Holler, a great grandson, Jordan Michaud, and her parents and brothers and sisters. In addition to her children, Alice is survived by 12 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. Alice held several jobs during her lifetime, which included working at Kaaz Woodworking and as an aide in the nurseries at St. John's and Cushing Hospitals, which she loved; but her favorite occupation and biggest joy was being a wife, mother, and grandmother, which she did with great love and care, and she will be missed tremendously by all of us. Alice's family would like to extend a special thank you to Jill Guenther of St Luke's/Cushing Home Health, Dr. Samuel Dandar, and all their staff, who provided the support necessary to enable the family to honor Alice's wish of living her final days at home. Arrangements are being handled by Davis Funeral Chapel, where a family visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, December 5, 2016. Funeral Service will be at Davis Funeral Chapel 11 AM, Tuesday, December 6, 2016, with burial following at Mount Muncie Cemetery.
