Syble Nell Davis, 82 of Springhill, Louisiana died Saturday, February 28, 2009 at the Summit Health and Rehab Center in Taylor, Arkansas.

She was born February 19, 1927 in El Dorado, Arkansas to the late James Hal and Ora (Fuller) Davis. She was a beautician and seamstress for 35 years and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, especially when she gave it away, reading, and gardening. Syble loved people and loved her grandchildren dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene Ransford Hale; life partner, Homer Lindsey; brothers, Jimmy Wayne Davis, Olan Davis, Marvin Davis, and Preston Davis; and grandson, Billy Hale.

Survivors are her daughters, Gloria H. Stephens and husband Clyde of Taylor, Arkansas, Sylvia H. Lindsey and husband James Ronald of Springhill, Louisiana; son, Louis James Hale and wife Drenda of Springhill, Louisiana; brothers, Nolan Davis and wife Carolyn of Camden, Arkansas, Ruel Davis and wife Paulette of Springhill, Louisiana, William Rex Davis and wife Helen of Houston, Texas; sisters, Reba Powell and husband Joe of Cullen, Louisiana, Carolyn Smith and husband Joe of Tallulah, Louisiana; grandchildren, Sergeant John David Stalnaker, Charles Stalnaker, Waco Hale, Toby Stephens, Major Robin Trubiano, Susan Stalnaker, Angela Rice, Terri Waites; twelve great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Davis Williams of Katy, Texas; best friend, Theo Pevy of Springhill, Louisiana; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Lewis Chapel with Bro. Larry Brignac officiating. Burial will follow at Welcome Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Springhill. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Sergeant John David Stalnaker, Charles James Stalnaker, Waco Hale, Toby Stephens, Phillip Rice, Kenny Waites, and Robert Trubiano.

Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Calvary Baptist Church.
