Born in Astoria, Queens, NY to Carmine and Giuseppina Falci in 1929. She graduated with High Honors from her high school in Astoria in 1947 and immediately found work in nearby Manhattan as a secretary in the dry wall construction industry.
Married to Anthony (Neil) Giacalone in 1952, where they resided in Flushing, Queens, NY. In 1958, they moved out to the suburban town of Commack, Long Island where they raised four children.
After nearly 20 years as an office manager for a successful orthopedic practice, she and Neil retired in 1991 to Spring Hill, FL where they both learned and enjoyed playing golf while also traveling extensively, visiting some 29 countries in the process. They recently relocated to Jacksonville, FL.
She was a loving and selfless mother who always placed the needs and aspirations of her family far above her own.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, Neil, along with their children, Michael (Nancy) of Lutz, FL; Cathy (George) Komarek of Jacksonville, FL; Steven (Cheryl) of Chelmsford, MA; and Peter (Tracey) of Ft. Salonga, NY; as well as grandchildren, Danielle Komarek, and Sydney and Steven Giacalone.
Funeral mass at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Jacksonville, FL. Interment ceremony at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
