Charles R. La Fleur, age 82, of 1900 Kellner Street #502, Manitowoc, died Friday, June 20, 2014 at his residence.

Charles was born on March 5, 1932 in Manitowoc, son of the late Gladys (Beson) La Fleur. Charles was a 1950 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. Charles served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1951 until his discharge in 1955. Charles married the former Lois Havlichek on May 7, 1955 at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Two Rivers. He worked as an airline agent for North Central Airlines in Manitowoc, eventually became Republic Airlines, then went to work for Northwest Airlines and retired in 1986.

Charles loved people and his community. He loved to be involved and enjoyed the friendships he made. In his younger years he was very involved with the Manitowoc Jaycees, the Manitowoc Lakeshore Traffic Club, the Spider's Club and was one of the founding couples along with his wife Lois of Heart-A-Rama which is still going today! Charles has received countless awards over the years for his citizenship.

Charles and his wife had a passion for antiquing and were collectors of well, everything. They went on many road trips all over the country just enjoying the ride. Charles loved to garden and was an avid Packer fan. He loved being with his family and his grandchildren. The highlight of every month was when he got together with the card club boys in the evening or going to lunch with the boys from Lincoln High School, class of 1950. He treasured those times with his friends.
