Davenport Alger, one of the old residents of the town of Conesus and a man well known all through this section, died Tuesday afternoon, after a long period of ill health, at the age of 79. He leaves one daughter, Mrs. George H. Snyder of Conesus. The funeral will be held from his late home this afternoon at 2 o'clock.
