A service honoring his life will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening, August 1, 2014 at 7 PM. with Military Honors. GROW, RONALD H. Of Jackson, joined his wife, Sandra "Sally" (Strassburg) Grow in Heaven on Friday, July 18, 2014, at the age of 74. He will be remembered by his two children, Scott (Deborah) Grow and Vicki (James) Whitehead; three grandchildren, Michael (Jill), Staci (James) and Logan; six great-grandchildren; brothers, David (Jan) Grow, Richard (Marie) Grow, Fred (Linda) Grow, Dale (Linda) Grow and Jerry Grow as well as numerous nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Bruce, Ernest and Charles. Ron was born in Williamston, MI on September, 15, 1939 to Cecil and Thelma (Perry) Grow. After his father signed permission for him to join the U.S. Navy he proudly served 23 years. He was a proud Sailor and served Worldly, visiting Turkey, Puerto Rico, Germany, The Philippines, Spain, Greece, Rome, Singapore, Scotland, China, including two tours in the Gulf of Tonkin during the Vietnam War. He was an avid reader, coin collector, book collector; enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending time with family. According to his wishes cremation has taken place and his CREMATED REMAINS will be buried at sea. A service honoring his life will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening, August 1, 2014 at 7 PM with Military Honors.
