Scott was retired from the Michigan Department of Corrections where he served 13 1/2 years as a Corrections Officer at The G Robert Cotton Correctional Facility (The Cotton Club), his most favorite job of all the jobs he ever had. Scott was a Navy Brat, being blessed to have a Father who Served for 21 1/2 years, giving Scott and his family one helluva adventure and education, living overseas such as Germany, the Philippines, and 5 years in Rota, Spain, along with numerous stateside bases. Scott will be fondly remembered for his incredible sense of humor, his love for all things Batman, rides in TANK, our Jeep on back country roads, especially in the Fall, his most favorite time of the year, and his diehard love for the Detroit Lions and MSU Spartans.
Scott is preceded in death by his parents, Mother-in-Law Carol Ziegler, Sisters-in-Law Dori and Becky Ziegler, several uncles, and cousins.
Scott was born May 18, 1961 to Ronald and Sandra (Sally) Grow in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He is survived by his wife Deborah (Ziegler), sister Vicki (Jim) Whitehead, Nephew Logan (Ashely) Whitehead, Father-in-Law Fred Ziegler, very special aunt, Jan Grow, special cousins Lori (Harvey) Harrell, Ron Grow, Kelly (Matt) Blomberg, Gayle (Howard) Schweikert, Rick (Jody) Grow, Godson Toby (Jessica) Grow, and his two very special Basset's, Elvis and Dudley, Along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends from around the world known as Rota Nation.
A celebration of Life for Scott will be held on October 14th, 2023 at Bennett Community Church, 5990 Springport Road, Jackson, Mi, with Pastor Edwin Utz officiating. Visitation is from 10:00-11:00, with the service at 11:00. A lunch to follow at the church.
As Scott was such a huge lover of Batman, all guests are encouraged to wear your favorite DC Comics Hero, or favorite sports team.
