James McGinnis, son of Ellen and John McGinnis was born near Craig, Oct. 31, 1891, and died at his farm home near Craig, March 2, 1967, at the age of 75 years, 4 months, 1 day.

He had spent most of his life in Holt County with the exception of 16 years in Montana.

He married Ethel Mace on January 6, 1916, in Lewistown, Montana.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel, of the home; a son, John Robert McGinnis of St. Joseph; three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Suddarth, Danville, Pa.; Miss Elizabeth McGinnis, St. Joseph; Mrs. Patricia Hawkins, Fairfax; a sister, Mrs. Joe Ball, Craig; 10 grandchildren; and three nieces.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, March 4, 1967, at the New Liberty Church near Craig, with Rev. Floyd Evans officiating.

Mrs. Jimmie Thomson and Duane Showalter, accompanied by Mrs. Michael Lord, sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "God Understands." Pallbearers were J.E. Kerns, Clarence Robbins, Harold Gray, Ransom Browning, Denzil Austin, Ralph Kinder.

Interment was in the New Liberty Cemetery, near Craig.
